| Dake Traphagen has been building instruments for many decades, having studied in Europe and America both. He has built instruments for the Romeros, and many other well known personalities and is very well regarded today by leading musicians. This guitar has a European spruce top, Indian rosewood sides and back and the Gilbert style bridge with individual pin saddles. It has a very open, warm velvety quality, yet is at the same time brilliant. Tonally very complex, it has a very nice color range, and it easy to play, with great projection. It is easy to see why Dake enjoys the positive reputation he is known for in the guitar community. This instrument is well played, with significant nail and handling marks visible around the instrument. In addition the center seam of the top has been re-glued and the entire instrument french polished over the original varnish, none of which negatively affects the musical utility nor longevity of the instrument.
